School Closure Updates

On March 25th, the Governor announced that MN school districts are to implement distance learning starting on Monday, March 30th, through at least the month of April.  This means that all schools are closed and school activities are suspended during this time.  See the ISD 186 Distance Learning Plan for an overview of expectations for the weeks ahead.  More detailed information will be sent to students by their teachers.  Students, please check your school district email at least daily!!  Here is a simple site with a tech support cheat sheet with "how to videos" for many of the digital tools being used by students and teachers.

Buses are now running regular routes and stop at bus stops TWO HOURS after normal morning pick up times to deliver breakfast and lunch bags for children 18 years of age and younger.  Families that do not have a regular bus stop can pick up meals at EV or the HS main entrance at 9am-10am.  Families may also request to be added to any current regular bus stop including one of the six group bus stops in the district (to pick up meals and materials):
  • EV or HS/MS = 9am - 10am
  • Speedway in Jenkins = 9:05
  • Reeds Market in Crosslake = 9:05
  • Pioneer Village in Nisswa = 9:05
  • Bar Harbor in Lake Shore = 8:50
  • Fifty Lakes Fire Hall = 8:50
  • Mission Fire Hall = 9:20
Requests to be added to an EXISTING bus stop for meals can be made by calling the bus garage at  218-568-8541.  Families are invited to leave a clearly marked plastic bin at bus stops for staff to leave meals and school work.
